They are constructed entirely on a lace base with a lace seam that is fixed around the entire circumference of the head (as oppose to just at the front from ear to ear as with lace front wigs for black women). The hair used in the wigs is lightweight and versatile and can be parted at any point and in any direction. The hair can be worn up, in a pony-tail or in braids.

Because of the wider variety of styles available as well as the option for extended wear, they are very popular. They can take longer to put on than a Lace Front Wig due to the wig needing to be secured with adhesive all the way around the head. This can be an issue for those who only want to wear their best glueless full lace wigs occasionally and for shorter periods as they perhaps have less time to spare in preparation. It’s not an issue though if you are intending to wear your wig for days or even a couple of weeks at a time.
